Registration FAQ's

How can I participate?

We have 4 ways for your to participate in a Strollathon.

  1. Individual (Stroll & Fundraise): Register as an individual to Stroll & Fundraise if you plan on participating in the Strollathon (in person or virtually) AND if you’d like to create a fundraising page.
  2. Individual (Stroll ONLY): If you’d like to attend the Strollathon but do to not want to participate in fund raise, choose this option.
  3. Form a Team: If you have a group of people willing to actively fundraise, consider starting start a team and inviting invite others to join you.
  4. Join a Team: Join an existing team that your friends & family have already created.

When should I form a team?

Teams are a great way to engage multiple people connected to a child or family to fundraise collectively. If you have a group of people willing to actively fundraise, consider starting a team and inviting others to join you. You may create a Team fundraising goal and each individual on your team can create their individual fundraising goal. Any gifts given to an individual on your team will be counted toward the overall team goal as well.

How does team fundraising work?

When a donor gives to an individual Stroller, that donation will show up on his/her personal page honor roll. This donation goes toward the individual Stroller’s total; it also rolls up into the team total and the event total. Donations can also be made just to the Team page itself.

Is there a fee to participate in the Strollathon?

Registration is free; it’s your fundraising that makes a difference! Register and start a team, join an existing team, or register as an individual participant. Let’s come together to all those with Rett syndrome by Strolling all across the country!

Can I use the same login information from a past Strollathon?

If you are a returning Stroll participant from the past two years, please utilize your past login information. Login information is specific to the Strollathon only. If you have a past Strollathon login from before 2018 or an EverydayHero page with RSO, please create new credentials. If you need assistance retrieving your credentials please contact Jackie at Jventura@rettsyndrome.org.

I forgot my user name and password. How can I find out what they are?

Remember that your password is case sensitive. If you forgot your username or password, you can request to have an email sent to you so that you can see your username or reset your password. Navigate to your local Stroll webpage and click on “Login” on the top right. On the next page, click “Forgot Username or Password?” Enter your email and we will send you a message to receive your username or reset your password. Having problems registering online?

If you are having any trouble registering online, please email Jackie Ventura, Family Development Manager, at jventura@rettsyndrome.org or call at 978-500-2495. Please allow at least 24 hours for a response. Normal business hours are Mon - Fri, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

How do I register my family to attend?

Each family member will need to be registered individually. As you register yourself, you can opt to register additional family members as well. Everyone attending the Strollathon event is required to register as your registration form also serves as an event waiver. Registering also helps us prepare for an enjoyable experience for everyone on a Stroll day! If needed, you can also register your children on Stroll day.


Participant Center FAQs

Can I upload a photo or video?

You may upload one image (.jpg, .png or .gif files) or one YouTube™ video to your page. For the best fit, select or crop images to 300x400 pixels. The maximum photo size is 4MB. Click here for step by step instructions.

How do I edit my team name or choose my team division?

The team captain can update the team name in their participant center under the team page tab. On the right-hand side of the screen, click “edit” in the box that lists your current team name and division. Use the text box to edit the name and click “update.” In the same section, use the drop-down menu to select your team division and click “update.” Click here for step by step instructions.

I’ve never fundraised before…what should I do?

IIt’s easier than you think start by logging in to your Participant Center and share your story on your personal page. Next, send an email to your friends and family and ask them to support you in the Strollathon or share your link on social media. The Participant Center has email templates you can use or you can create your own message to share your connection to Rett syndrome. Contact Jackie at Jventura@rettsyndrome.org for more ideas.

How do I update my personal or team goal?

As an individual or team captain, you can update the goal in the participant center. Click on the progress tab. On the right-hand side of the screen click “Team.” In the center of the screen click on the word “change” next to your current team goal. Use the text box to type in your new goal and click “submit.”

How do I send emails through my Participant Center?

Once you log in to your Participant Center, click on the tab marked “Email” and follow the instructions to send emails to family and friends asking for their support. To upload your address book, click on the tab marked “Email” then click “Contacts.” Click “import contacts” and follow the instructions to import your personal email address book. Alternatively, you may copy and paste your personalized URL into an email from your own provider to share your story.

How can I see who has donated to me?

From the event page, log in to the Participant Center. Once in your Participant Center, click on the “Progress” tab to view your donor history and see your percent to goal. Please note: donor messages will only be seen by you and will not be visible on your public profile page.

Why aren’t some of my donors showing up in the Donor Scroll window?

Donors can choose not to display their name (selecting Anonymous) or the amount of their contribution. They will be acknowledged for their donation via email, and you will get credit for their donation. If you need updates made to your donor roll or a list of donors, contact us at Jackie at Jventura@rettsyndrome.org.

Who should checks be made payable to?

Please make all checks payable to Rettsyndrome.org. Please write the name of the Stroll Event (e.g. Portland Strollathon) and the Stroller or child in honor to whom you would like to credit in the memo line.

How do I submit checks my donors give me for my Stroll campaign?

To have the donations confirmed on your personal page, please mail all your donations along with the Donation Submission Form to Rettsyndrome.org. As soon as we receive your donation checks in the mail, we will enter the gifts and you will notice your personal progress bar reflect these donations. You must indicate your name and the Stroll you are participating in on the Donation Submission Form to receive credit for your donations. Mail your Donation Submission Form and checks to:

You must submit a separate Donation Submission Form for each Stroller.

What if a donor gives me cash?

Please convert all cash donations to a money order or check before mailing it in with a Donation Submission Form. This will help to ensure the safe arrival of your donation and proper receipting to your generous donor.

Can I enter the donation on my page myself?

While we know you are excited to see your personal progress bar go up immediately, you will need to send donations to Rettsyndrome.org to enter on your page. This helps us provide the most accurate fundraising total for you, your team and your local Stroll event, and avoid duplication of gift entries. Please submit your gifts using the Donation Submission Form. Please allow 7-10 business days from when donations are received to show online.

Will my donor get a receipt from Rettsyndrome.org?

Yes. Every online donor will receive an email receipt sent to them. Donations sent into the office will receive a paper copy.

Can I turn in money at the Strollathon?

Absolutely! When you check-in at your event, there will be envelopes available for you to turn in your donations. All funds received on Stroll Day will be deposited, processed and posted to your personal page within 2 weeks of the event.

How long will donations for this year’s Strollathon be accepted?

Donations will be accepted until December 31st, 2020.

My company matches gifts. Do you accept matching gifts?

Absolutely! Please contact your company’s Human Resources department for instructions on how to get started. Since every company handles these programs uniquely, there is not universal paperwork to submit.

Many companies will also match an employee’s time volunteering. Contact your company’s Human Resources department to see if your company offers a volunteer hours matching program. Volunteering at your local Stroll is a great way to earn volunteer hours. Contact your local Stroll Coordinator to see how you can help.

Will the matching gift display on my personal page?

If the participant you would like to donate to is not registered, he or she will not show up in the search. Making A Donation FAQ's

Are donations tax deductible?

Donations to Rettsyndrome.org are deductible to the extent provided by law. For your records, our Tax ID# is 31-1682518.
