Welcome to My Personal Page
Last year, my friend KC Byers rode his bicycle over 2,000 miles across America, from San Diego, CA to Jacksonville, FL, to help create awareness of Rett syndrome, a terrible disease affecting his daugher, and many other children worldwide. I'm joining him again this year (just along the MS/AL/FL gulf coast), to help raise money to fund a cure and help families affected by it, and would greatly appreciate your financial support.
Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorderwhich becomes apparent in infancy or early childhood. It occurs in 1 in 10,000births and primarily affects females, though it can occur in boys. The children develop normally for the first 6to18 months and then begin to regress – or lose acquired skills. Rett syndromecauses changes in the brain that lead to lifelong impairments, including inabilityto speak, seizures, scoliosis and breathing difficulties. More than half of those affected lose theability to walk. Most require maximum assistance with basic daily activities.
Your donation will help fund important research and critical family support. I appreciate your help in joining the fight for a cure for Rett syndrome!
