Team Audrey is participating in the Minnesota Strollathon this Fall, IRSF’s signature fundraising and awareness event, to raise money for essential research of effective treatments and to find a cure for Rett syndrome.
Audrey is 11 years old this year. She is going into 5th grade which gives us all a little bit of angst thinking about middle school next year. She loves to listen to music, and to be surrounded by people. Her very favorite food is chicken nuggets and french fries, ha. She keeps us on our toes every day and is loved by all who know her.
Rett syndrome is a genetic neurological disorder occurring almost exclusively in females and becoming apparent after 6-18 months of early normal development. The resulting regression leads to lifelong impairments, including lost speech, seizures, scoliosis, irregular breathing patterns, and more than half of the children and women lose the ability to walk. Those diagnosed with Rett syndrome require maximum assistance with basic daily activities.
Your donation will help fund important research and family support. This cause is very important to our family and we appreciate your help as we fight for a cure for Rett syndrome!
