We are walking in this years San Antonio Strollathon, one of the many Rettsyndrome.org’s signature fundraising and awareness event, to raise money for essential research of effective treatments and to ultimately find a cure for Rett syndrome. This casual stroll has a fun and energetic festival atmosphere.

Rett syndrome is a genetic neurological disorder occurring in both felmale and male, but is found primarly in females. Rett syndrome becomes apparent after 6-18 months of early normal development. Resulting in regression that leads to lifelong impairments, including lost speech, seizures, scoliosis, irregular breathing patterns, heart conditions, feeding issues and leaving more than half of the children and adults to lose the ability to walk and use their hands. Those diagnosed with Rett syndrome require maximum assistance with basic daily activities.

Izzabella is a eight year old full of life, she loves her disney movies, thrill rides, playing in the water. Her smile instantly causes you to smile. Her eyes talk to you more than any words you could possibly hear. Izzy is a eight year old who has been through eight surgeries, countless procedures and test. She even has surgeries plan for the futrue, all just to live, to smile another day. Izzy is fearless and one of the most strongest people I know, she is a great teacher, a precious daughter, and a amazing sister. Izzy has taugh so many people the value of life, to never take anything for granted, to have patience, and to love with no boundries. Izzabella deserves a cure, she deserves to have her body back, and to have some type of control.

I fight everyday for Izzy to live the most fulfilling life she can have. Izzabella's sisters have become amazing advocates, and you can become both for Izzy aswell. We need a cure for Rett syndrome, and not for just Izzy but for so many boys and girls now and future kids who will develope Rett syndrome. Everyday you see adds or comercials to cure Cancer, to save a animal, you see crazy challenges, such as the " Ice bucket challange" to raise awareness and funds for very important causes, you also see famous people asking for your donation. For Rett syndrome you will see us famileis, the ones who truely understand the importance of a funding and awareness. The families that spend more time in a hospital then their home. The families who lives are for ever changed, living a life full of doctors, therapist, nurses, medications, Ivs, machines for breathing, feeding, suctioning. You will see the faces of those affected by Rett syndrome, the child that is desperate for a cure. I ask you to be apart of something that can be life saving for a person like Izzy, your donation will help fund important research and help give countless families support. Izzy and I, are counting on you, with your donation and willingness to spread awareness, you can make a difference.

Please join us by strolling under the sea, at our local strollathon, October 19, 2019, at the San Antonio Aquarium or donate to support Rettsyndrome.org in finding a cure! Your help is our hope!
