Going the Mile!
Hi! We will be walking/strolling in the Florida Strollathon again this year and would like to say thank you to all who supported us and all the families last year and hope you will join us again this year in raising funds to fight against, educate about, and offer support to those affected by Rett Syndrome. For lots of valuable information go to: www.rettsyndrome.org
Missy was almost 8 when she was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. She was by all accounts, a normal, happy, healthy baby girl until the changes started around 15 months. She lost her verbal skills, her motor skills became more rigid and her constant hand-wringing made it near impossible for her to do anything with her toys and feeding, etc. Missy has always maintained her ability to walk, although, as she is aging, her balance seems to be an issue. She is a determined young lady and enjoys her independence so we have been out walking in the mornings, hoping to tackle that issue to be able to walk the entire distance around the Field of Dreams Park during the Strollathon. Missy turned 42 this summer and is doing well but we can always strive for a little bit more and inviting you to join us in hopes to make life the best it can be for our girls.
Please help Missy and our entire Rett Family.
Thank you! The Chapman Family
