We are excited to offer 3 ways to participate in this year’s Rett Ride Across America!

Here are the details:

Community Ride

Ride for Rett Syndrome in your community, but be sure to follow all Covid-19 guidelines. Ride around the block or across town and invite your community to join you. Make it fun. Don a purple wig and cape. Paint your face or decorate your bike. Show your spirit to overpower Rett.

Your virtual ride could be at a fitness studio (be sure to follow all Covid-19 guidelines) or on your own stationary bike (Peloton, etc).

    Join Rett dad, KC Byers, in the Gulf Coast Ride taking place on Saturday, October 9th in Daphe, AL. The Gulf Coast Ride will feature rides for all dedicated cyclists with either a 104, 68 or 20 mile option. For more information on the Gulf Coast Ride, please contact KC Byers at 251-295-0230.

    Registration FAQ's

    Is there a fee to participate in Rett Ride Across America?

    There is no registration fee for community and virtual rides, but we ask that you to commit to raising $250. The Gulf Coast Endurance Ride has a registration fee of $50.

    How do I register?

    Please visit www.rettrideacrossamerica.com and choose the participation option you are most interested in and register accordingly.

    Having problems registering online?

    If you are having any trouble registering online, please email Jackie Ventura, Family Development Manager, at jventura@rettsyndrome.org or call at 978-500-2495. Please allow at least 24 hours for a response. Our normal business hours are Mon Fri, 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

    What if I already have plans on the date of the Ride or there is not one in my area? Can I still participate?

    Yes! We want everyone no matter where they are located. If there is not a ride in your area, consider starting one. Check out the Community Ride tab to learn more.

    Participant Center FAQ's

    Can I upload a photo?

    You may upload image.jpg, .png or .gif files. If the file is too big, consider cropping the image.

    Can I upload a video?

    You may post a YouTube™ video to your page.

    I’ve never fundraised before... what should I do?

    It’s easier than you think start by logging in to your Participant Center and share your story on your personal page. Next, send an email to your friends and family asking them to support you in the Ride or share your link on social media. Need more ideas- check out our Fundraising 101 document.

    How do I send emails through my Participant Center?

    Once you log in to your Participant Center, click on the tab marked “Email” and follow the instructions to send emails to family and friends asking for their support. To upload your address book, click on the tab marked “Email” then click “Contacts.” Click “import contacts” and follow the instructions to import your personal email address book.

    How can I see who has donated to me?

    From the event page, login to the Participant Center. Once in your Participant Center, click on the “Progress” tab to view your donor history and see your percent to goal.

    Why aren’t some of my donors showing up in the “Honor Roll” scroll window?

    Donors can choose not to display their name (selecting Anonymous) or the amount of their contribution. They will receive an acknowledgment for their donation via email, and you will get credit for their donation. If you need updates made to your honor roll, contact us at events@rettsyndrome.org.

    Can I get a list of all donors in a report?

    Yes! You can download your personal donation list from the Participant Center under the Progress tab. You can also contact us at events@rettsyndrome.org, and we can pull the report for you.

    Who should checks be made payable to?

    Please make all checks payable to Rettsyndrome.org. Please write the name of the rider to whom you would like to credit in the memo line of each check.

    What if a donor gives me cash?

    Please convert all cash donations to a money order or check before mailing it to Rettsyndrome.org. This will help to ensure a safe arrival of your donation and proper receipting to your generous donor.

    Can I enter the donation on my page myself?

    While we know you are excited to see your personal progress bar go up immediately, you will need to send donations to Rettsyndrome.org to enter gifts on your page. This helps us provide the most accurate fundraising total for you, your team and your local Ride event, and avoid duplication of gift entries. Please allow 7-10 business days from when donations are received to show online.

    Will my donor get a receipt from Rettsyndrome.org?

    Yes. Every online donor will receive an email receipt sent to them. Donations sent into the office will receive a paper copy.

    How long will donations for the Strollathon be accepted?

    Donations are accepted until December 31st, 2020.

    My company matches gifts. Do you accept matching gifts?

    Absolutely! Please contact your company’s Human Resources department for instructions on how to get started. Since every company handles these programs uniquely, there is not universal paperwork to submit.

    Many companies will also match an employee’s time volunteering. Contact your company’s Human Resources department to see if your company offers a volunteer hours matching program.

    Will the matching gift display on my personal page?

    Yes! As soon as Rettsyndrome.org receives the matching funds from your company, we will post it to the website for viewing. Please note that it typically takes three months or more for Rettsyndrome.org to receive matching gift money from companies.

    Making A Donation FAQ's

    Are donations tax deductible?

    Donations to Rettsyndrome.org are deductible to the extent provided by law. For your records, our Tax ID# is 31-1682518.

    Why is Search for a Participant not finding a participant that I know has registered?

    The search function can search for all or part of a name. If you do not know the exact spelling of a name, you can type part of the name and a list of walkers matching that search will be listed. If the rider that you would like to donate to is not registered, he or she will not show up in the search. It takes up to 24 hours from the time of registration for the participant to appear in the search function.
